Science Teacher - Leyton- Waltham Forest

Competitive rate of pay between £140- £185 per day

We are seeking a passionate , creative Science teacher for a secondary special school to deliver KS3-KS4 Science for a group of 8 students who have been excluded from mainstream school due to a social, emotional or mental health need; pupils exhibit challenging behaviours and they will test your patience! . You will be able to take the Science curriculum and lift it to motivate pupils to learn, you will be patient but most importantly not give up on them. The head of school is incredibly supportive of his staff and you will be working as part of a team that work cohesively to help pupils reach their full potential. There are great facilities on site including a gym , seclusion room and a new vehicle workshop. There will be a permanent contract available for the successful candidate.

Job specification:

  • UK based Secondary level teaching experience
  • Experience from a PRU or supporting challenging young people with behavioural needs
  • Able to deliver the Science curriculum at KS3-KS4 Level
  • Holds Fully Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging interactive Science lessons taking into considerations pupils' needs
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
  • Have good behaviour management skills and able to motivate pupils to learn
  • Must have a resilient personality
  • Able to provide recent school based references from teaching posts

The role will be commencing from September 2019, this will be a full-time position from Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm during school term time only.
