Teaching Personnel are currently working in partnership with a secondary Academy located in Wigan who require a Science teacher on a full time basis from September 2019 to cover a maternity leave.
This Academy has recently joined a new Trust with an excellent reputation, and continues to excel under the guidance of an excellent senior management team.
This is the ideal opportunity for any Science teacher looking to secure a temporary role within a forward thinking school.

- Pay in line with MPS/UPS 2019/20 scales
All available Science teachers are encouraged to apply for this position, with the school welcoming applications from experienced teachers as well as NQT's (induction support available). All Science teachers (Biology, Physics and Chemistry specialists) will also be considered for this opportunity with the timetable being able to accommodate all specialisms.
Science teachers wishing to be considered for this position are required to be comfortable teaching all areas of KS3 Science as well as their specialism area to GCSE level. The Headteacher seeks to appoint a Science teacher who is able to challenge the learning of all pupils and positive impact attainment.
Located in Wigan, the school is only a few miles from the town centre, making it commutable via public transport and is easily accessible via the A577/A49. This is an average sized Secondary School with around 1054 children aged 11-16 on roll, the number who speak English as an additional language is slightly lower than the national average. Results are improving in the core subjects and pupils make good progress.
Facilities in School are excellent and the School has a modern and state of the art feel throughout. Science teachers are supported by lab technicians who offer an excellent level of resource and planning support to members of the department.
