Position: Science Teacher

Start Date: Febuary

Location: Wakefield 

We are looking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, and inspirational teacher to join the Science department of our secondary school in Wakefield. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who really wants to make a difference to the lives of young people. 

Both EXPERIENCED and NEWLY QUALIFIED teachers are encouraged to apply for this position.

Requirements for this role:

  • PGCE or recognised UK teaching qualification
  • QTS or working towards
  • Relevant Science degree level qualification
  • Experience teaching in a classroom environment 
  • Good behaviour management 

Responsibilities include:

  • Able to use a variety of teaching methods and maintain motivation
  • Promote positive behaviour amongst pupils and manage behaviour in line with school behaviour policies such as dress code
  • Monitor and evaluate pupils’ class work and report these back to senior members of staff in order to take appropriate action when needed.
  • Excited by learning and passionate about teaching students aged 11-16
  • Plan, prepare and deliver differentiated Science lessons
  • Full marking responsibilities

About Teaching Personnel: 

  • Excellent daily rates paid weekly by our in-house Payroll team using the Pay As You Earn (PAYE) system.
  • Full compliance with AWR (Agency Workers’ Regulations), to make sure you get the pay and working conditions you are entitled to
  • Generous refer a friend or colleague bonus scheme (£50)
  • Access to a dedicated consultant, who will provide ongoing support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
