A large Bolton based secondary school is seeking to appoint an experienced Science teacher on a full-time basis from September 2019 for one term intitially, with the view of extension for the appointed Science teacher.

Due to an expansion within the Science department the school are now seeking a temporary Science teacher to join their department on a full-time basis.   • Full-time Science teacher, September 2019.
  • Must hold QTS alongside relevant subject specific degree level qualifications within Science.
  • Ofsted graded 'Good' Secondary school based in Bolton, accessible via the M60.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23, 720 - £39, 406.

This rare opportunity has raised for a dynamic Science teacher due to a restructure amongst senior staff members, which created an influx of demand across the faculty. The school has been recognised for its progression across the school under the guidance of its senior staff team. Noted for the consistent approach to delivering outstanding teaching and learning to pupil's at all individual levels, the school continue to make dramatic progress.

The responsibilities for the successful Science teacher will include but may not be limited to;

  • Expected to lead a full-time table delivering inventive Science lessons; planning, preparing and evaluating all class work.
  • Effectively teach the National curriculum within the school's Teaching and Learning Policy.
  • Develop schemes of work, resources, teaching and learning strategies, contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of all pupils.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The school has just over 750 pupils on roll aged 11-16 and is located on the border between Bury and Bolton the school can easily be accessed via the M60 and the surrounding areas; Salford, Preston and Bury. There are also various public transport links available with access across Greater Manchester.
