Science teacher

Are you a reliable and dedicated Science teacher seeking work in the new academic year?

If so, Teaching Personnel are working with a large mixed 11-16 secondary school located in the Wigan LEA that are in need of a Science teacher to cover the remainder of a Maternity leave.

The successful teacher will be expected to teach the KS3 and KS4 Science curriculum with the school offering either temporary employment until December 2019. Whilst this is a temporary Science teaching role in the first instance, the position may be extended or become permanent.

  • Full-time Science teacher
  • Temporary employment, September - December.
  • Must have recent experience teaching Science at GCSE.
  • Experience and Newly Qualified teachers all welcome to apply
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS (£23,720 - £39,406)

Located close to Orrell in Wigan, our client secondary school is larger than other secondary schools in the area. Located in close proximity to the M6 and just a short drive to the Wigan town centre the school is easily accessible via public transport or your own mode of transport.

This welcoming school have enjoyed consistent success over the years and continues to maintain a good level of education. The imaginative development of the curriculum means students benefit from a range of courses and feel confident about their futures.

Pupils behave well, are courteous and there is an established culture of high expectations. There has been very strong progress in the Science department recently; high achievers continue to be challenged with effective support in place for those sitting below the expected standard for their age.

The school has highlighted the following requirements;

  • Teachers will be able to teach Physics, Chemistry or Biology to GCSE and one other discipline to KS3.
  • Must have an enthusiastic and engaging approach to their teaching.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills are vital as a new staff member joining the school in September.
