Science Teacher needed at Ofsted good secondary school in Stockport, this is a full-time post starting in September 2023. The school are seeking a passionate educator to join their Science Department on a long term basis.

  • Earnings in line with your PayScale (£28,000 - £43,685)
  • Work in one of the highest regarded schools in Manchester
  • Considering applicants of all experience levels (must hold QTS)

The school is an 11 – 18 mixed secondary with an excellent reputation, they are above the national average in nearly all subjects with their GCSE results in the Sciences being particularly high. The school are looking to raise these numbers even further by hiring a Teacher who is results driven and someone who has outside of the box ways to boost attainment.

The successful applicant will be expected to plan and deliver lessons in line with the national curriculum and the school’s high standards, you will also set engaging homework tasks which encourage students to participate in their own research outside of the classroom. The planning and supervision of experiments will also be a part of your role, liaising with the school’s lab technicians to ensure a safe learning environment.

The applicant must also show the ability and confidence to support students with SEN, you will work closely with the school’s dedicated support staff to ensure an enthralling learning experience for all. You will create and develop student specific learning materials to enable your pupils with differing learning processes to take the maximum from your sessions.

The site benefits from having a secure, onsite car park as well as being centrally located, there are a variety of public transport options at your disposal with a nearby tram stop, a bus stop on the school’s doorstep with a variety of services running in and around Greater Manchester.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
