Job description

We are currently working with a reputable secondary school in Rochdale who are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team for the upcoming academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive school environment, where you can make a real difference in students' educational journeys.

As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering engaging lessons in all three core scientific disciplines: Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. You will have the chance to inspire students, encourage critical thinking, and create a passion for science that will stay with them throughout their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4

  • Provide support and feedback to students to encourage academic and personal growth

  • Foster an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where all students can thrive

  • Monitor and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching

  • Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to ensure a consistent approach to student development

  • Participate in school-wide activities and professional development initiatives

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold a relevant Science degree and teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)

  • Have a genuine passion for teaching Science and inspiring students

  • Be experienced in teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and 4 (NQT applications are also welcome)

  • Possess excellent communication and classroom management skills

  • Be proactive, adaptable, and able to work well within a team

  • Have an understanding of the UK national curriculum and assessment practices

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
