Science Teachers – Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
£25–£30 per hour | Flexible hours | 1:1 and small-group tuition
TP Tutors is looking for enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teachers to deliver personalised tuition in Mansfield and across the wider Nottinghamshire area. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire learners and help them gain confidence in science subjects.
The Role
As a Science Tutor, you will provide tailored one-to-one and small-group tuition outside the classroom, either in students’ homes or local community venues. Lessons will be designed to close learning gaps, reinforce classroom teaching, and prepare learners for exams. You may be supporting across biology, chemistry, and physics, depending on your specialism.
Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality science tuition (1:1 and small groups)

Plan and adapt lessons to suit individual needs and learning styles

Simplify challenging concepts to build understanding and confidence

Track progress and provide clear feedback after each session

Comply with safeguarding and child protection requirements
Requirements
-
Strong knowledge of the science curriculum (KS3–KS4, ideally GCSE)
-
Teaching or tutoring experience, including work with SEND/SEMH learners
-
Excellent planning, communication, and organisational skills
-
A patient, empathetic, and adaptable teaching style
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Up-to-date safeguarding training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
