Job Advert: Experienced Science Teacher Needed for A Secondary School in Kirkham (PR4)

Position: Science Teacher (Secondary Level)

Location: Kirkham, Lancashire

Contract Type: Full-time from September 2025

Salary: Competitive (based on experience)

Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists? We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Science Teacher to join a dynamic team in a secondary school in Skelmersdale. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves teaching and can engage students with the wonders of biology, chemistry, and physics.

Key Responsibilities:

•            Deliver engaging and innovative science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students

•            Prepare students for GCSE examinations, helping them achieve their full potential

•            Develop and implement creative, hands-on experiments that make learning fun

•            Assess, track, and report student progress, adapting teaching methods to individual needs

•            Collaborate with the science department to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

•            Participate in school events, extra-curricular activities, and parents' evenings

Requirements:

•            A qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and QTS

•            At least 2 years of experience teaching science at secondary school level

•            A thorough understanding of the UK National Curriculum for Science

•            Strong classroom management skills with a passion for making science accessible and enjoyable

•            Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

•            A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
