Science Teacher – Secondary Alternative Provision
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Temp to Perm

Are you a passionate and resilient Science teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Science Teacher to join a supportive Alternative Provision setting in Darwen, working with secondary-aged students who require a more personalised and nurturing approach to education.

The Role:

  • Full-time teaching role delivering Science across KS3 and KS4

  • Working with students with a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and other barriers to learning

  • Creating engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual needs

  • Building positive relationships and helping students re-engage with learning

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience working in a mainstream or alternative provision setting

  • Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach

  • Passionate about inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
