Job description

We are seeking a passionate and resilient Science Teacher with QTS to teach students aged 11–16 within a specialist secondary setting. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, working 8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday. You will be joining an exceptional specialist provision set in a calm, rural environment that supports both learning and wellbeing. The school is widely recognised for:

  • A therapeutic, pupil-centred approach

  • Strong focus on engagement, behaviour support and emotional wellbeing

  • Small class sizes and excellent staff-to-pupil ratios

  • A highly supportive, collaborative and experienced staff team

Students have a range of Special Educational Needs, including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Communication and sensory processing difficulties and Associated learning and behavioural needs

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver adapted Science lessons to meet individual needs

  • Create a structured, safe and engaging learning environment

  • Support pupils’ academic progress and personal development

  • Work closely with support staff and multidisciplinary teams

 

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Minimum 6 months childcare experience, particularly supporting children with SEN needs

  • Experience teaching SEN or specialist settings is highly desirable

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle due to the rural location

  • A patient, adaptable and resilient teaching approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
