Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher with QTS to work full-time with students aged 11 to 16. This role does not require a specialist SEN qualification; instead, we are looking for a teacher who demonstrates empathy, patience and a genuine commitment to adapting education to meet a wide range of learning abilities.

You will be supporting pupils with SEMH needs, including anxiety, depression, and attachment or detachment disorders, within a structured and nurturing environment.

This specialist provision recognised for its trauma-informed, pupil-centred approach and strong pastoral support. The setting places a clear emphasis on emotional wellbeing alongside academic progress, helping students to rebuild confidence, re-engage with learning and develop positive coping strategies. Staff are supported by an experienced leadership team and work collaboratively within a calm, respectful and inclusive environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering lessons tailored to varied learning needs

  • Adapting teaching approaches to support emotional and behavioural needs

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with vulnerable young people

  • Supporting students with SEMH needs to re-engage with education

  • Creating a safe, consistent and positive classroom environment

  • Working closely with support staff and pastoral teams


Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A calm, patient and flexible teaching style

  • Willingness to personalise learning to support different abilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
