A well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Christchurch is seeking a fully qualified Science Teacher to join their department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a committed and knowledgeable practitioner to become part of a supportive Science faculty that places high value on student progress, subject expertise, and high-quality teaching and learning.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons that promote curiosity and achievement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality Science lessons

  • Teaching KS3 and KS4 Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics)

  • Assessing, tracking, and reporting on student progress

  • Maintaining high expectations for behaviour and attainment

  • Contributing to departmental planning and whole-school initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds QTS and is fully qualified to teach Science

  • Has experience teaching Science at secondary level

  • Has strong subject knowledge and classroom practice

  • Is confident managing behaviour in a mainstream setting

  • Is committed to safeguarding and inclusive education

Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics is welcome but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
