New role available to work within the Science department of a secondary school.

  • Full-time Science teacher.
  • To start from April 2020, on an ongoing basis.
  • Paid to scale point (GBP24,373 - GBP40,490).
  • Supporting pupils across Key Stage 3 and GCSE.
  • Secondary school based in Bury, graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted.

The school is known for its welcoming staff community alongside consistently good GCSE grades. The school has an excellent Science department with modern facilities, equipment and laboratories. The school also has interactive whiteboards in each classroom with access to a laptop or computer.

The incoming Science teacher will be expected to teach a full timetable alongside plan, prepare and deliver differentiated Science lessons. Both newly qualified and experienced teachers are welcome to apply to this role as an induction and support will be provided. The successful candidate must be confident in teaching general Science lessons up to GCSE level. The incoming teacher must have QTS and a subject specialism within a relevant Science.

The successful candidate will also be required to monitor and evaluate pupil progress and to take appropriate action where required. It will also be important to set relevant homework tasks and mark these in line with the school curriculum.

Our client secondary school is based in Bury with around 800 pupils in attendance. The school can be accessed via the M62 and A58 for candidates with their own transport from surrounding areas of Greater Manchester. For candidates on public transport, the school has excellent links being close to the town centre of Bury. The school can be accessed from areas such as Bolton, Prestwich and Whitefield via public transport.
