Job description

Teacher of Science – Maternity Cover (Full-Time) 

A well-established school on the outskirts of Bournemouth, known for its strong community ethos and student-centred approach, is looking for a Teacher of Science to join the department from October 2025 on a maternity cover contract.

What the role involves:

  • Teaching KS3 and KS4 Science, with the option to specialise in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

  • Planning engaging lessons that make complex concepts accessible.

  • Supporting students of varying ability levels, including SEN and high achievers.

  • Contributing to extra-curricular STEM opportunities.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified teacher with a Science specialism.

  • Have a track record (or potential) of securing strong student outcomes.

  • Be enthusiastic about science and innovative in teaching practice.

  • Enjoy working as part of a cohesive and supportive team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
