Teaching Personnel are hiring!

We are looking for a Science specialist, fully qualified or partially completed trainee to work with our schools on a supply basis. We are looking for individuals who are looking for any duration of work, from 1 day through to a week and even up to a years cover. Whether you are looking for supply work, longer term positions or even a permanent role, Teaching Personnel would like to hear from you!

At present we have positions available to cover Science until the end of the Academic year, and positions to cover Science for periods of Maternity lasting towards the end of 2020.

Working on a supply basis through Teaching Personnel you'll benefit from working with a variety of schools local to you. We pride ourselves on keeping our Teachers local to their area, or if it is your preference, looking for work further afield for you. During our registration process, a dedicated consultant working in your area will discuss you goals, desires and aspirations within education and will work quickly and efficiently to ensure you begin work as soon as you are able. In a recent Google review, a Science Teacher we currently work with wrote:

'I find the staff both professional and charming. The registration process was made painless and their consideration of my needs as a newly qualified teacher has been first class. I look forward to working with them in the future.'

As a Supply Teacher, Your Duties Will Include

  • Supervising students in lessons whilst delivering pre-planned work left by the teacher
  • Managing pupil behaviour in the classroom and adhering to the policies and procedures of the school
  • Collecting and marking the completed work from the lesson and leaving a detailed handover for the teacher to return to.

For long-term positions, further responsibilities may be required of you such as planning, marking, assessment and meetings, of which a pay increase will reflect your additional work load.

What you'll need to succeed

To gain a supply teaching position, you must have completed your studies and hold full QTS, or be part way through your studies with the desire to return to your training after a period of time working with us. Teaching Personnel work closely with a variety of Academy Trusts in and around Portsmouth who are also able to offer paid routes into teaching in order to complete your training. You should have a professional manner and a flexible attitude to working and timetable changes. Most importantly, you should be an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about teaching.

What you'll get in return

  • Competitive rates of pay.
  • Holiday pay and pension contributions per week
  • Continued professional development and support.
  • A dedicated team of professionals on call to aid you in your work.
  • Access to an online diary to check your bookings and update your availability
  • Refer-a-Friend scheme

To apply for this role, please submit your most recent CV today!
