Science graduate Teaching Assistant- Wigan

Science graduates needed to work as Teaching Assistants within secondary schools across Wigan

Teaching Personnel work in close partnership with many secondary schools across Wigan to provide Science graduates to work as Teaching Assistants on a daily and longer term basis. These roles are a fantastic opportunity for any Science graduates to support the learning of Science across the whole school;

  • Providing Teaching Assistant support in Science lessons by working 1-to-1 with pupils and with small groups.
  • Supervising Science lessons in the absence of the teachers ensuring that pre-set work is completed accordingly.
  • Using your Science degree to enhance the learning development of the pupils.
  • Covering in other subject areas whenever necessary.

This type of work is ideal preparation for any Science graduates to gain earn money whilst gaining valuable experience. They are also perfect for any Science graduates wishing to complete teaching training in the future as the work you will do can be used as evidence to support a UCAS application.

Teaching Personnel work in close partnership with a large number of the schools across Wigan which ensures that there is a variety to work in with the potential of becoming a regular option for all their Teaching Assistant needs.

Many of the schools in Wigan are highly regarded and have pupils who enjoy attending and are keen to learn. These make them an ideal environment to work/gain more experience. Further, the Catholic schools are part of the Catholic Schools Direct Teaching Training programme and look for this type of experience as part of an application.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
