Job Title: Receptionist / Administrative Assistant

Location: Wellingborough, NN8

Job Type: Full-time, Term-time only (plus training days)

Salary: 90-110 per day

Start Date: To be confirmed

About the Role We are looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to join the office team at our secondary special school in Wellingborough (NN8). This role is a key front-of-house position and you will often be the first point of contact for students, parents, staff and visitors.

The successful candidate will support the smooth running of the school office while helping to maintain a welcoming and professional environment for our school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional reception service and greet visitors to the school

  • Answer and direct telephone calls and emails

  • Ensure visitor sign-in procedures and safeguarding processes are followed

  • Support with general administrative tasks including filing, photocopying and data entry

  • Assist with maintaining student records and school databases

  • Manage incoming and outgoing post

  • Provide administrative support to the wider school team when required

About You

  • Previous administration or receptionist experience

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Confident using Microsoft Office and general IT systems

  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment

  • A positive and flexible approach to working within a school setting

Experience working in a school or with young people with additional needs would be an advantage but is not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
