Job description

SEND Teaching Assistant – Wellingborough / Kettering Area

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils in specialist and mainstream settings across the Wellingborough and Kettering area.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children and young people with additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and reach their full potential.

Location: Wellingborough and Kettering

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Long-Term / Supply

Salary: 89.38- 95 per day dependent on experience 

The Role

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND

  • Support children with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, MLD and other additional needs

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering differentiated learning activities

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation

  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

  • Monitor and report on pupil progress

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (SEND experience desirable)

  • Patient, empathetic and resilient approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
