School Receptionist / Admin Assistant - Manchester

Full time position for an experienced admin assistant / school receptionist commencing after Easter half term (April 2018), potentially earlier, at Ofsted Outstanding school in South Manchester. This position is full time, initially temporary covering a gap within the schools staffing; however there is a possibility for permanent dependent on the need of the school.
The school caters for children and young people with a range of diverse needs including: pupils with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties. Many pupils within this school do also have physical needs and complex medical needs. This is an 'outstanding' and incredibly supportive school with a supportive senior leadership team.
This role will involve being the face of the school, meeting and greeting children, parents, staff and visitors. You will be responsible for ensuring all visitors sign in and sign out and are with the relevant members of staff. You will be answering the phones and dealing with any enquiries in relation to the school. You will be required to use the computer system including SIMS, outlook and microsoft office to record pupils attendance and information.
It would be ideal to have previous experience within an admin role within a school due to knowledge of the school systems etc. It would also be ideal to have an awareness of special educational needs due to the school environment and being able to be aware of students needs.
The ideal admin assistant (receptionist) will have:
- previous admin experience
- ideally previous experience as a school receptionist
- SIMS experience
- ability to use online systems to record data

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
