School Business Manager – Dual Site

Location: Two sites (Staffordshire & Cheshire)
Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £52,000 – £55,000 per annum


The Role

This is a senior leadership opportunity across two specialist education settings, where you will play a key role in driving operational excellence and supporting positive outcomes for students. You will lead established administration teams across both sites, providing direction, structure, and ongoing development.

As School Business Manager, you will oversee and develop all support services, including:

  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Administration
  • Facilities & Estates
  • ICT
  • Health & Safety
  • Housekeeping & Catering

You will ensure these services operate efficiently, remain compliant with regulations, and align with organisational priorities—creating safe, effective, and high-quality environments for learning and wellbeing.


Key Responsibilities

Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will:

  • Lead strategic and operational planning for support services
  • Manage budgets with full accountability, driving value and performance
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, regulatory, and health & safety requirements
  • Oversee financial performance, reporting, and resource allocation
  • Inspire and manage multi-disciplinary teams across both sites
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence

This is a varied and dynamic role, requiring a proactive approach and a strong contribution to the overall success of both settings.


About You

You are an experienced and confident leader with a strong background in business management, ideally within education or a similarly regulated environment.

You will bring:

  • Proven leadership experience across multiple operational functions
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, monitoring, and performance analysis
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding, compliance, and health & safety legislation
  • Understanding of funding frameworks, inspection requirements, and regulatory standards
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to work independently, make informed decisions, and solve complex problems

Desirable:

  • A recognised management or professional qualification (e.g. Management or Finance)
  • Experience leading HR processes and procedures

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
