Residential Support Workers required
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Teaching Personnel have recently been working with a residential school in Andover to help with the residential houses as well as the school. They cater for pupils from 5-19 that are diagnosed with Autism which could include other needs such as:
- Autism
- Speech and Language needs
- Learning Difficulties.
The majority of the pupils live on the school site in the residential homes therefore residential staff would be expected to support the pupils in break/lunch at the school.
They are looking to open up a couple more care homes which is why they are looking for extra Support Workers, there would be a variety of shifts available including days and nights. The lengths of shifts can vary each week so flexibility would be ideal for the Support Workers. These would be full time hours and ideally you would go onto a permanent contract with the school following a probation period.
The ideal candidate would have previous experience working with Autism and other types of Special Educational Needs. If you have previously worked in care this would be an advantage however not essential as there is a large amount of training given. You would need to be flexible with your availability however they can accommodate certain requests for example no night shifts.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
