Our client secondary school situated in the South of Manchester is looking to recruit a Religious Studies teacher to join them following the October half term. The successfully appointed Religious Studies teacher is required to fulfil the remainder of a maternity cover at this Roman Catholic high school. The school is a faith school and therefore a Religious Studies teacher of Catholic faith is desirable although not essential.

The Head of Humanities said of the Religious Studies position:

"We are looking for a Religious Studies teacher to join our Humanities department in September. The successful RS teacher will be teaching up to GCSE level across the ability range. Being a faith school, we are looking for a RS teacher that is either of Catholic faith or open to teaching about the Catholic faith given that it is a big part of our school community. We are keen to recruit a permanent member of staff for our supportive and prospering team, so any RS teachers looking for their next full time, long term career teaching position are encouraged to apply now"

Highlights of this Religious Studies position:

  • Pay will be in line with teacher's payscale: MPS1 - UPS3 (£23720 - £39406) - or new pay-scales as applicable
  • Applications accepted from teachers of any experience level; NQT to more experienced
  • RS Teacher required: Full time, maternity cover required
  • Teach at this well regarded, Catholic South Manchester based secondary school
  • Work on a supply basis for the duration of the maternity cover; possible role thereafter for the successful Religious Studies teacher

The school has a very good reputation in the Greater Manchester area and specific values of Respect and Compassion reside throughout the school. The successful RS teacher is expected to echo these values, ensuring the spiritual development of all students. Innovative and engaging lessons are therefore encouraged and expected at this secondary school to ensure all students are learning throughout their journey.

The school is situated in the South Manchester area close to the M60 ring road and M56 motorway networks. It is therefore easily accessible for those teachers in the neighbouring areas of Trafford, Altrincham, Stockport, Congleton, Crewe and Macclesfield. For those on public transport, the Greater Manchester metrolink services this school well.

If you are a Religious Studies teacher available from the October half term, looking for your next longer term teaching role, apply now with your latest teaching CV and cover letter for consideration.
