With closures of schools having now taken place due to the spread of COVID-19, schools have begun their recruitment drive for the new academic year. Schools across the Manchester/Greater Manchester area are looking for teachers/support staff to join their teams on a temporary basis, once normal service has been resumed. 

A school in Trafford is looking for an Religious Studies Teacher to join the teaching staff on basis. It is vital that the required applicant:

  • Has an in-depth subject knowledge with regards to Religious Education as a whole.
  • Is educated to degree level (preferably in RE or a related subject)
  • Holds QTS (or an equivalent qualification)
  • Is competent in the teaching of school curriculum up to KS4. Any experience teaching A-Level Philosophy/Ethics is also welcomed.

The required applicant will be expected:

  • To work to recommendations made by Ofsted, and understanding the importance of these recommendations when striving for improvements within the school.
  • To be able to identify pupils who may require additional support, as well as working with pupils requiring EAL support.
  • To ensure that pupils are set in-class tasks that are engaging, as well as homework tasks that are relevant to curriculum expectations.
  • Prepare students for examinations, as well as working collaboration with support staff to ensure the needs of those with SEN are catered for.
  • To quickly develop positive working relationships with both students and staff.
  • To implement strategies that enable students to maximise their overall ability within the subject.
  • To allow for students to work on both an individual, and group basis, to ensure that the learning process is kept engaging throughout.
  • To set goals for individual attainment, both within the short and long term, and to inspire children to obtain these targets. 

Annual pay for this role: Between GBP24,373 and GBP40,490 per year.

  • The M60 motorway is close by for those that drive.
