Religious Education Teacher

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Religious Education (RE) teacher on behalf of our client secondary school located in Orrell, Wigan.

This position has recently arisen due to a member of staff preparing to go onto maternity leave imminently and subsequently, this 11-16 secondary school wish to appoint a Religious Education teacher on a full-time temporary basis at the earliest convenience.

  • Religious Education teacher required, immediate start date.
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (£23,720 - £39,406).
  • Located close to Orrell in Wigan.
  • Leading a timetable consisting of KS3 and GCSE Religious Education.
  • Full-time position with complete planning and marking responsibilities.

The Head of Humanities wishes to meet with interested Religious Education teachers as a matter of urgency with a phased handover on final week of term for the successful applicant.

The school aim to appoint a passionate and dedicated RE teacher who is able to motivate their students during the lesson, creating a sense of enthusiasm in class in order to increase the amount of pupils that enrol onto RE at GCSE level. It will be crucial in support of further employment that the incoming RE teacher will be able to stretch the learning of their pupils in order to achieve excellent results at GCSE level.

Situated in Orrell, the school is on the outskirts of Wigan town centre making it easily accessible via car or public transport from the surrounding areas; Skelmersdale, Chorley, Standish & Ashton-in-Makerfield. The school is also a short drive away from the Merseyside areas. This is a smaller than average secondary school and currently had around 650 pupils on roll at present.
