Teaching Personnel are currently working with a school in St Albans that require an ambitious teacher with a passion for humanities and a driving ambition for Religious Education success. The school is a small secondary school sitting on the edge of the historic Cathedral City of St Albans. The school is situated within easy reach of the M25, M1, A1 and close to fast main line train links to London. Set in extensive grounds with beautiful views and fantastic facilities this school is a great place to work.

Religious Education is a key subject in the school where standards at Key Stage 3 have been consistently strong compared to National figures and a popular choice at KS4. At GCSE, achievement is also strong compared with national standards. Recruitment and results at A level are also positive. Expectations for behaviour and achievement are high throughout the department and colleagues support each other effectively.

There are dedicated specialist teaching and learning areas for all subjects housed in their own area of the school near to the staff room. Rooms have fibre-optic cable broadband internet access and interactive whiteboards. The department is located immediately adjacent to a computer room and there is also a Wi-Fi network in the area. Additionally, our Independent Learning Discovery Centre and well-resourced library is available to all curriculum areas to support independent work and to further learning, or for students to use one of the Discovery Centre's 50 wireless laptop computers, or 30 desktop computers, to support their learning. Our six computer rooms can also be booked for class use and all staff are issued with a laptop computer to aid preparation for learning and administration.

This school is rated as GOOD in all areas by Ofsted and all staff who work at the school through Teaching Personnel comment on how supportive the SLT are and how the students have a real desire to do well. To apply for this great opportunity please send your CV to Emma ASAP.

Interviews are welcome as soon as possible as this position is ideally to start after Easter.
