Job description

An East Manchester based Sixth Form College is looking to recruit a Religious Education teacher to start with them in the new academic year. The successful Religious Education teacher will be teaching at A-level including modules on Theology, Ethics and Philosophy. The teacher of Religious Education should ideally have experience of teaching A-level either at a college, sixth form or further education establishment.

  • Pay dependent on experience but likely between £120 - £150 per day
  • Work in a popular and well reputed Sixth Form College
  • Be a part of the flourishing Humanities team, collaborating with a well resourceful and highly knowledgeable department

The Head of Religious Education at the Sixth Form said of the post:

"Religious Education plays a massive role in all of our lives, whether you are Atheist, Theist, and Agnostic or conform to another group. Either way, we cannot deny that the study of Religion is a fantastic foundation for independent thinking and structured arguments.

We are looking for a Religious Education Teacher that can facilitate such discussion, debate and higher level thinking."

This Sixth Form College is based on the East side of Manchester, easily accessible via the motorway network of M60 and the many local A roads, including the A635 and A57. The college is an integral part of the local community and is the further education college of choice for many of the local secondary schools. Students that attend are noted for being astute and motivated and engaged in their learning.
