A mixed secondary school located in the Tameside area is seeking to appoint a Religious Education teacher to join their Humanities department in January 2020. The successful Religious Education teacher is required for the 2 terms taking them up until July 2020. This is an open vacancy at this well known secondary school which is being payrolled through Teaching Personnel in the first instance. Working with this secondary school closely as a recruitment partner, the school are open to using the first term from January until April as an extended trial where if successful and suitable, the RE teacher could secure a school based contract.

The school are specifically looking for a Religious Education teacher who is innovative in their approach to the subject and passionate in their teaching of the Religious Education Curriculum. This is a full time position where the Religious Education teacher will be teaching KS3 and KS4 Religious Education. Applications are being encouraged from teachers of all experience levels including NQTs and more experienced teachers alike.

Highlights of this Religious Education teaching position:

  • Pay will be in line with payscale for this longer term RE teaching position; GBP24373 - GBP40490 pro rata for the 2 terms
  • Duration: 21 term in the first instance with opportunity to progress on to a school based contract
  • Full time Religious Education position, starting 6th January 2020
  • NQTs and experienced teachers encouraged to apply for consideration
  • Given the longer term nature of this RE teaching role; planning and marking is expected as part of this position
  • Highly supportive Humanities department consisting of RE, History and Geography specialists

This school is well known for being one of the schools of choice in the area of Tameside. It is consistently over subscribed with students being astute, intelligent and engaged with their learning. The school, as a result, is looking for a teacher who can therefore engage with students, keep learning fun and enjoyable whilst imparting subject specific knowledge.

The school is located in the central Tameside area making it very easily accessible via the M60 ring road and M67 motorway network. For those on public transport, the metrolink which travels from the city centre through Droylsden up to Ashton Under Lyne, services the area well. There is also a local train station closeby and plenty of buses which service the school.
