Reception EYFS Teaching Assistant – March Start
Location: Bristol- Bedminster
Contract: Full time, long term
Start date: March 2026
Salary: Starting at £90 per day
We are working with a lively, welcoming primary school that is looking to appoint a Reception EYFS Teaching Assistant from March. This is a long term role working closely with the EYFS Lead and a wonderful class teacher in a well resourced Early Years setting.
The school has a warm, friendly feel and a real commitment to giving children the best possible start. The Reception class is full of personality and energy, so the school is looking for a calm, confident and proactive Teaching Assistant who can provide consistent support and clear boundaries, while building strong, positive relationships with the children.
The role will involve:
- Supporting the class teacher and EYFS Lead with day to day classroom practice
- Working with small groups and on a 1:1 basis to promote engagement, learning and independence
- Supporting children with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs in a nurturing, structured way
- Helping to set up and maintain purposeful indoor and outdoor learning environments
- Contributing to observations, assessments and the wider EYFS team
The school are looking for someone who:
- Has recent experience working in EYFS or KS1, ideally in a school setting
- Can remain calm, consistent and positive in a busy, lively classroom
- Is confident supporting children with additional behavioural and social emotional needs
- Works well as part of a team and can follow agreed strategies and routines
- Shows a genuine passion for Early Years and helping young children thrive

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
