Exciting Opportunity for an RE Teacher in Denton!

Are you a committed and passionate RE (Religious Education) Teacher looking for a new challenge? Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer a full-time position for an RE Teacher at an Ofsted Good secondary school in Denton. This role is available to start in September for the full academic year, with the potential for permanency based on performance. The salary for this role is £30,000 to £46,525 per annum, in line with PayScale.

Role Overview:

As an RE Teacher, you will play a vital role in educating students about various religious beliefs, practices, and ethical issues, promoting tolerance, understanding, and respect for diversity. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing RE lessons in accordance with the national curriculum, ensuring that all students develop a broad and balanced understanding of different religious traditions and moral principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging RE lessons covering a range of religious topics, ethical dilemmas, and philosophical questions, fostering students' critical thinking and reflection skills.

  • Interfaith Understanding: Teach students about different religious beliefs, traditions, and practices, encouraging them to appreciate diversity, respect others' viewpoints, and develop their own values and beliefs.

  • Moral and Ethical Discussions: Facilitate meaningful discussions and debates on moral and ethical issues, helping students to explore and articulate their thoughts, opinions, and values.

  • Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and personal development.

  • Behaviour Management: Establish a positive and inclusive learning environment by implementing effective behaviour management strategies that promote respect, engagement, and participation.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues within the RE department and across the school to share best practices, resources, and ideas for enhancing teaching and learning.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in RE or Theology.

  • Strong subject knowledge across various religious traditions, ethical theories, and philosophical concepts.

  • Previous experience teaching RE at the secondary level, preferably within a UK school setting.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.

  • Commitment to promoting religious literacy, interfaith dialogue, and moral education among students.
