Qualified SENCO (Special Educational needs co-ordinator)
Location – Northamptonshire
Start date – September 2026
Contract type – Full-time
Salary - £150- £200 (Dependent on experience)

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated, fully qualified SENCO for a pivotal leadership role starting this September. We are working in partnership with a supportive secondary academy trust in Northamptonshire looking for a champion of inclusion to lead their learning support department.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an established SENCO looking for a fresh environment, or a highly experienced SEN teacher looking to step into a fully supported coordination role.
The Role and Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership - Oversee the day-to-day operation of the school’s SEND policy, ensuring compliance with the SEND code of practice.
- Student support – Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the provision for students with EHCPs (Educational, Health and Care plans) and additional needs.
- Staff Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and deploy a team of Teaching assistants and Higher Level Teaching assistants (HLTAs)
- External Liaison – Act as the primary point of contact for external support agencies, educational psychologists. Local authorities. And parents.
- Data and Assessment: Identify and track student progress, adapting intervention strategies to maximise student outcomes.
The ideal Candidate.
- Must hold a UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Must hold (or be actively working toward completing) the National Award for SEN coordination (NASENCO) or the new National Professional Qualifications for SENCOs (NPQ for SENCOs)
- Experience- Proven track record of managing or working closely within a school SEND department.
- Skills – Exceptional communication skills with the empathy required to support families and the authority needed to lead a team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
