Position: Food Technology Teacher 

Location: Nottingham

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute captivating lessons in food technology tailored to students of diverse ages and skill levels.
  • Cultivate a secure and inclusive learning atmosphere that encourages students to explore their creativity and hone practical skills.
  • Instruct students in essential cooking methodologies, food safety practices, nutritional principles, and recipe innovation.
  • Offer guidance and assistance to students during practical cooking sessions, ensuring adherence to high standards in food preparation and presentation.
  • Integrate technology into teaching methodologies, leveraging tools and software to enrich the learning journey.
  • Evaluate student progress, furnish constructive feedback, and maintain meticulous records of their accomplishments.
  • Collaborate with peers to craft curriculum materials, lesson plans, and assessment methodologies.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in food technology, incorporating them into teaching practices.
  • Advocate for healthy dietary habits and the significance of sustainable food practices.

Requirements:

  • Hold qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent accreditation.
  • Possess a specialization or robust background in food technology, culinary arts, or related disciplines.
  • Previous experience in teaching food technology or a related subject is highly advantageous.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students, fostering a passion for food and culinary arts.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a knack for prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with the capacity to forge positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Competence in integrating cooking techniques into teaching methodologies.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
