Pupil Referral Unit Support Staff - Secondary PRU

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a Pupil Referral Unit in Middlesbrough to recruit a support assistant to work with children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties and challenging behaviour on a full time basis.

You will be working with students in Key Stages 3 and 4 who are currently unable to be in mainstream education for various reasons including:

  • Children in Looked After Care
  • Anxiety
  • Exclusion
  • Speech and language difficulties

Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with challenging behaviour and will be confident managing this, you will benefit from a Team Teach qualification in this role. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people with SEN and have a kind and nurturing personality. You will be working in classes of between 5-8 students and will be accompanied by a teacher and another support assistant.

Teaching Personnel can offer support assistant's competitive pay rates of up to £65 per day, the role will commence in September.
