Psychology Graduate -Teaching Assistant Position – Enfield - Immediate Start

  • Can you provide pupils who require additional support in the classroom by being a confident and effective teaching assistant?
  • Do you have experience of working with children with additional learning requirements/special educational needs?
  • Are you a psychology graduate with ambitions of getting into teaching or educational psychology?

**Psychology Degree Required (or related degree) English, Maths.

**£60-£70 per school day

Teaching Assistant Summary

Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit on behalf of some of the most prestige Primary Schools in the Borough of Enfield. We are looking to take on a psychology graduates immediately, on a long term basis for the remainder of the academic year, to work as a 1:1 or general teaching assistant.

Qualifications and Experience Required

For this teaching assistant position you will need a psychology (or related) degree. The school will only be looking to seep applicants they can progress onto potential teacher training courses, so a degree is essential. You should also have some paid/voluntary experience of working with children or young people with special educational needs. As for your personality, confidence is key. You should be able to engage pupils and be able to hold their attention with ease.

Teaching Assistant Job Description

You will be working as a 1:1 or general teaching assistant- supporting key stage pupils with different SEN difficulties.

The key area where they will need your support is remaining on task, literacy and numeracy; you will also need to be strong academically to help them make good progress.

The teacher will be expecting you to monitor the child's progress on a week to week basis so you can both formulate a strategy to help the child move forward. The information you collect will help you both in developing ways to support them.
