Are you a Psychology Graduate seeking to work in schools?
Are you considering a career in education or perhaps as an educational psychologist?
Gaining experience working within schools will provide you with a valuable insight to working with children and whether this is a career you want to pursue. Working within schools will also help support any future PGCE applications if you are considering teaching.
- Full time & Part time roles available
- £54-£65 a day (dependant on experience)
Why Psychology Graduates?
Psychology Graduates tend to work really well supporting students for a number of reasons. If you are supporting a child with behavioural needs you tend to have the mindset to seek why the child may be behaving in such a way, rather than simply reacting.
Working as a Teaching Assistant you will have a number of roles and responsibilities:
There may be opportunities within the school for you to provide interventions & tutoring of your specialist subject.
You may work 1:1 offering support to a students - Some students may have Special Educational Needs
Working with small groups of students you could provide academic support such as helping with their English and Maths
You may undertake the role of a general Teaching Assistant and help within the classroom offering support to all pupils
Some pupils may have Behavioural Difficulties and need you to act as a Behaviour Mentor.
Requirements:
- Strong academic background - Psychology degree
- Some experience working/volunteering with children
- an enhanced DBS - Teaching Personnel can provide guidance on how to apply for this.
