Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant

Do you have Psychology qualifications – A levels, degree or Masters?

Are you interested in supporting young people at risk of exclusion with social and emotional mental health needs?

We have a challenging but rewarding role based in a secondary provision in Croydon for budding psychology graduates. The school are looking to appoint teaching assistants to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with students who have had difficulty learning in mainstream settings.  Some pupils have had disadvantaged backgrounds and experiences that have ultimately effected their mental health and ability to learn.

The role  involves building positive relationships with students while encouraging engagement in learning and social activities. There will be collaborative work with specialists, teachers and agencies such as CAMHS, Young Offenders and Social Workers.

What would you need to secure this job:

• MUST have Psychology qualifications or experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour or mental health
• MUST live local to Croydon and Wimbledon
• Commitment for regular work each Monday to Friday for an academic year (full time work)

Hours:

8:20 – 4:00pm Monday to Friday (full-time work)
