Are you finishing your psychology degree this year and looking for a job where you can utilise your skills and set your self up for your career?

Do you have what it takes to make a real difference supporting children in education with cognitive, social and mobility difficulties including autism spectrum condition?

If you said YES, you could work as special educational needs (SEN) teaching assistant in Hayes End supporting children in Special Need Schools while gaining invaluable experience working with therapists and teachers.

We have a great opportunity in the Yeading area in Hillingdon for keen psychology graduates looking to gain or develop on current experience with cognitive, social and speech conditions. We work closely with a National Autistic Society accredited primary school for 5-11 year olds diagnosed mainly with autism, speech and sensory needs. They have an interest in psychology graduates due to the theoretical knowledge and placement experience gained throughout the degree.

Roles are full-time during term times Monday to Friday each week 8:30am- 4:30pm to begin from the 23rd April 2019 and the school will be holding immediate trial days for successful applicants. The school are looking to appoint new staff for three new classes due to open in September 2019. These classes will be across Early Years to Key Stage 2 and will involve interactive activities, learning through play and outdoor learning.

Training specific to autism and special needs support will be provided by the school, however, having experience whether practically or through education supporting children with autism in classrooms is highly beneficial.

If you have a UK Psychology degree and either experience or confident in at least 3 of the following bullet points please get in touch:

  • Autism support experience
  • UK based Nursery, Early Years or Primary experience
  • Play work or Children's Centre play scheme experience
  • National Curriculum support experience - Primary or Secondary level
  • Special Educational Needs experience
  • Resilient, pro-active and outgoing personality
  • Residential support/care worker experience
  • Speech and Language support experience
  • Special Educational Needs teaching experience aboard

Please make sure you live in the area of Hillingdon or local to Hayes as they look solely for punctual staff due to the needs of their pupils.
