Job description
At Teaching Personnel we are closely working with schools across Newcastle, North Tyneside, Gateshead and Northumberland with support staff vacancies. Many schools have shown an interest in Psychology graduates as they often have an interest in behaviour supported by academic theory but also understand the importance of well-being and the underlying understanding of additional learning needs. The roles provide the opportunity to gain first-hand experience and training in a school setting for future careers for Teaching or working with children
The ideal Psychology graduate will:
- Communicate effectively with other staff and students, monitoring developments and progress
- Be composed managing sometimes challenging behaviour and situations
- Transfer skills and theory to a practical school environment and have a genuine interest - potentially considering a future career working with young people and/or SEMH
- Be a good role model with a proactive and confident approach
- Work on a 1:1 basis with students who require additional support
- Classroom support during lessons
- Patient and understanding of the students needs and circumstances
- No prior experience required just willingness to get involved in the classroom setting
Requirements
- Child and Adult DBS on the update service
- 2 professional and academic references
- Attend a quick interview in our Newcastle office

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
