Are you a Psychology graduate with a passion for education and a desire to support students with special educational needs? Teaching Personnel is seeking motivated and resilient individuals to work in SEN schools and alternative provisions across Liverpool and the surrounding areas.
This is a unique opportunity to use your Psychology background to help students who have struggled in mainstream schools. Many of these students have EHCPs in place and benefit from educators who can understand their needs, provide tailored support, and build strong, trusting relationships.
The ideal candidate will possess a natural empathy and the ability to connect with students, including those who may display challenging behaviour and find relationships difficult to establish. Your understanding and knowledge will play a vital role in helping students feel supported, valued, and ready to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs in the classroom.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students to help them engage and thrive.
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour with patience and resilience.
- Use your Psychology expertise to understand and meet individual student needs.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- A degree in Psychology or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Resilience, reliability, and a nurturing approach.
- Passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Psychology graduates to gain valuable experience in the education sector, develop essential skills, and make a real impact on the lives of students. Apply today to join a team dedicated to creating positive outcomes for children and young people.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
