Learning Support Assistant/ Progress Mentor required to provide support to KS3 students with SEN and associated behavioural difficulties - North Preston.
Our client school are looking for a Support Assistant with the ability to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties and associated challenging behaviours.The school is based in the PR26 area of Preston. The SENCO have advised they would value a candidate froma sporting background, although this isnt essential.

Mon to Friday 8:30am until 3:45pm
The pupils that need additional support, are all aged between 11 -16 years old, and have some earning difficulties as a result of their emotional and behavioural problems. They may also have MLD, ASC, SpLD, ODD, ADHD and OCD. Their attitudes towards and capacities for learning will vary considerably. The school therefore place great emphasis on differentiation of activities and materials to take account of individual learning styles. They take a proactive approach to identify all potential problems and avoid their escalation through addressing issues physically, emotionally and socially. The individual needs and difficulties of each pupil can be met through a variation of class-based, group and individual strategies involving a wide range of teaching skills, perspectives and resources.
You will ideally have experience supporting young people with behavioural difficulties and SEN. You must be resilient, quick-thinking, enthusiastic and understanding.
