This school caters to 128 young people aged 5 to 16 with a primary diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The Learning Support Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting students with ASC and SEMH needs. Working closely with teachers, they will help deliver personalised learning plans, assist with social development, and ensure a safe and nurturing environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and group support to students with ASC and SEMH, enabling them to engage with their learning.
• Assist in managing behaviour and supporting emotional well-being.
• Help students during activities and daily routines, ensuring a positive and supportive atmosphere.
• Support teachers in preparing learning resources and classroom activities.
• Collaborate with the wider team to monitor student progress and implement tailored strategies.

About the Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable, but not essential.
• A patient, understanding, and compassionate approach to working with young people.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• A proactive mindset and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students’ lives.
