Year 6 Class Teacher - March 2021

Job Type: Full-time Salary: GBP100-GBP140 per day

Start date: April 2021

End date: July 2021

Location: Aigburth

A catholic Primary School in the Aigburth area are looking to appoint a Year 6 Teacher on a full time basis. This 'Outstanding' school has been consistently using Teaching Personnel for over 2 years. The school has used both teachers and teaching assistants on a long term and short term basis. The applying candidates must have QTS and recent experience in Key Stage 2. Due to a gap in the department, the school are looking for a full time teacher in Year 6 from March 2021 until at least July 2021. The Head Teacher has stated they would be looking to appoint a permanent member of staff to work in Year 6 from April 2021.

The Head Teacher is looking for an individual who has experience supporting children in the preparation for SATs and they want to employ a candidate with a proven track record of raising attainment. The class you would be teaching are average sized with a mixed catchment of white British and Asian heritage. The majority of children in the Year 6 class are working in line with the age related expectations. The school have recently recruited additional teaching assistants to deliver small group interventions across Key Stage 1 and 2. In addition to this, each class has a full time teaching assistant.

To be considered for the role, you must have:

  • QTS in Primary Education or PGCE (or equivalent)
  • Experience in working with children in a Primary setting
  • Good knowledge of the Year 2 curriculum
  • Excellent classroom practice
  • Sound knowledge Phonics schemes of work – in particular Letters & Sounds
  • Good behaviour management

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
