⭐ Core Subject Tutor (Primary & Secondary) – NE24, Northumberland

Location: NE24, Northumberland
Job Type: Part-time / Flexible
Pay: Competitive hourly rates (based on experience)
Subjects: English | Maths | Science (Secondary)


About the Role

We are looking for a passionate and committed Core Subject Tutor to support primary and secondary students in the NE24 area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by delivering 1:1 personalised tuition and helping learners build confidence, close learning gaps, and achieve their academic goals.

You will be working with students who require tailored support, so creativity, patience, and adaptability are key.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions in English and Maths (Science desirable at secondary level)
  • Adapt lessons to suit individual learning needs and abilities
  • Support pupils in building confidence and improving academic performance
  • Track progress and provide clear feedback
  • Use creative approaches to keep learners motivated and engaged
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with students


✅ What We’re Looking For

  • Experience tutoring or teaching primary and/or secondary students
  • Strong understanding of English and Maths curriculum
  • Ability to engage and inspire young learners
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, flexible, and supportive approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK


⭐ Desirable Experience

  • QTS / PGCE / Teaching qualification
  • Experience supporting SEND, SEMH, or low-attaining learners
  • Experience delivering 1:1 or intervention-based tutoring
