SCHOOL STAFF REQUIRED!
Teaching Personnel is working closely with a One Entry Primary School in Black Heath that is looking for 4 SEMH experienced Teaching Assistants /Behaviour Support staff, to start immediately. The school supports approximately 5 classes of 10 pupils that are very vulnerable. You will work closely with your colleagues to produce tailored action plans for students across Key Stages 1,2 and 3, taking an active role in implementing a specialised and tailored programme that positively encourages learners to overcome educational and social barriers, improve their skills and ultimately gain recognised qualifications.
There are two roles available, the first is is full time, from 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday and the second is on a part time / day-to-day cover basis. You must be available immediately and have a DBS on the update service to be considered (please call us to find out more on how you can apply for a Child Workforce DBS). The school is situated in an affluent, quiet residential area, with transport links into central London - those who live in Greenwich, Lewisham and Bexley are a short commute away.
As a Teaching Assistant /Behaviour Support, you will have strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate with families, carers and a multidisciplinary team of teaching staff, social workers and educational psychologists. You will be organised, patient and confident, with a comprehensive understanding of the key issues currently affecting the young people at this Blackheath school.

- Experience working in schools before.
- Working knowledge of meeting the emotional, social and mental health of young people.
- Degree in Child studies, Psychology, Youth Work, Sports Science, Art and Design and Music.
- Desire to take a supporting role in an education setting.
Relevant training, such as Team Teach, First Aid, Health & Safety in Education, Mental Health & Well being in Children and Young People, are all desirable for a Teaching Assistant/Behaviour Support, but not essential. Teaching Personnel do encourage our staff to complete training courses, therefore we do offer opportunities for courses either for free or at a highly subsidised rate.
