Primary Maths Specialist Teacher

A fantastic school near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk are now looking for an experienced and unique Primary Teacher who specialises in Maths and Numeracy to take on a full-time role after February Half-Term. The position is full time, teaching a lower Key Stage 2 class and is set to run for 2 terms with the opportunity of being extended further.

The school are encouraging Newly Qualified Teacher's as well as overseas trained equivalent teachers to apply – provided that your knowledge of the UK national curriculum is substantial enough to plan and teach a full capacity class on a full time basis.

In order to raise their pupils levels in Numeracy across Key Stage 2, the school are looking for a Teacher who is going to lead and co-ordinate other teachers in terms of their teaching of numeracy, and bring a new, modern approach to the way in which pupils learn the skills they need to succeed in Maths.

Ideal applicants will also be required to:

  • Support children with challenging behaviour
  • Have their own transport
  • Possess Extensive knowledge of the curriculum
  • Be able to motivate and encourage primary school children to learn
  • Engage and motivate pupils by making classes interactive and stimulating

Some pupils in the class will be working on a 1:1 basis and within small groups with support from a qualified TA. The class itself is at full capacity and as a result of this; all applicants will need to have a high level of classroom management skills in order to ensure all pupils remain on task.

Successful applicants will be expected to interview and potentially teach a 30 minute class at the earliest opportunity; therefore we need someone who is committed to making a difference and is eager to get ‘stuck in’.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
