Physics Teacher – Fully Qualified with QTS Required

Location: Durham
Pay: £162.31 to £251.71 per day (MPS/UPS)
Start Date: Easter 2025
Contract: Full-Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Fully Qualified Teacher with QTS to join our client school in Durham as a Physics Teacher. If you are a passionate educator with a strong knowledge of Physics and the ability to inspire students, we encourage you to apply.

Not a Physics specialist? We are always looking for talented Science teachers across all specialisms—so if you have expertise in Biology or Chemistry, we’d still love to hear from you.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential – applications without QTS cannot be considered.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Physics, with an understanding of the broader Science curriculum at the secondary level.
  • Excellent classroom management and lesson planning skills.
  • A child-only DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
  • Two professional references from recent employment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Teach KS3 and KS4 Physics to a range of student abilities.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that support student progress.
  • Explain complex concepts in a clear, accessible manner.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
