PE Teaching Assistant

Pay: £12.84 per hour

Start Date: May 2024

Teaching Personnel work closely with a small education centre in Ystradgynlais, who are currently looking to take on new members of staff to work to mentor and emotionally support pupils who come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Due to the nature of the school and the behavioural needs of the pupils, a large proportion of the day is spent learning outdoors, with a large emphasis on sports and other physical activities.

The role would start on a temporary probationary basis up until July, with the potential of a permanent contract with the school being made at a later date.

A little bit about the school, the pupils, and the role:

-          The school has been recently opened and established and are looking to expand over the rest of the academic year.

-          The school has its own personal outdoor learning area, including a football pitch.

-          The pupils are looking for somebody who can be a role model to them, and can be patient and work with challenging behaviours.

-          The position is full time, Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 15:30

If you’re interested in applying, please know the ideal candidate will have one or more of the following:

-          Prior experience working as a sports coach for children, whether this was during school, work or for a local club.

-          Any prior experience working with children.

-          Patience, and the ability to work with pupils who will exhibit elements of challenging behaviour.

You will also need:

-          The Right to Work in the UK

-          An enhanced DBS check, which we can sort for you if required.

-          Two referees we can approach within the last 10 years.

If the above position is something that interests you, please apply and send your CV in for consideration, and I will be in touch within 24 hours of you application.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
