PE Teacher - Oldham

Are you seeking a supportive and welcoming PE department where you can take your career to the next level? Do you want to work at a school that is passionate about CPD?

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside one of our partner schools in Oldham that are looking to fill a temporary gap in their PE department from September 2019. This position will be for at least 6 months, however due to the nature temporary gaps we do predict that this could be extended and we would also welcome applications from PE Teachers seeking a permanent position due to the potential expansion of the department.

  • Full time position for a PE Teacher or Newly Qualified PE Teacher (NQT), filling a temporary gap for at least 6 months
  • Working within a large modern secondary school in Oldham with state of the art facilities and a welcoming and supportive PE department.
  • Paid in line with teaching scale point (MPS/UPS) and responsibilities upheld (£23,720 - £39,406)
  • Located a short drive from Oldham town centre and M60 motorway

Our partner school is based in the Lees area of Oldham, and currently have over 1200 students enrolled from the surrounding areas of Springhead and Moorside. The school has a good reputation within the local community, and has recently been recognised as one of the most improved secondary academies in the UK. It is situated a short drive from the M60 motorway and also is accessible via local bus routes.

The Head Teacher has opened this gap to Newly Qualified PE Teachers as well as PE Teachers with more experience seeking a fresh challenge and has stated that the successful candidate will be appointed due to their individual characteristics and what they can bring to the school, rather than past work experience. Incoming Newly Qualified PE Teachers can benefit from joining a very welcoming and supportive PE department which has an excellent bespoke NQT programme with a proven track record, and the CPD given is tailored to individual needs of the successful candidate. More experienced PE Teachers or those who show real ambition will be given the opportunity to take up added responsibility within the school with a permanent contract achievable.

If you would like to apply for this post as a PE Teacher please apply via the link below or send an updated CV to Chris Beckenham at Manchester North Secondary directly, alternatively call on the number provided for further information.
