About the School
Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a passionate and dedicated PE Teacher to join our team at a specialist school in New Milton, Hampshire. The school caters to secondary aged pupils with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those who have been excluded from mainstream education or are unable to access it for personal reasons.
With a proven track record of effectively transitioning pupils back into mainstream education, the school is led by a dynamic and active leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for a class of pupils, with the support of Learning Support Assistants. In this role, you will have the opportunity to take a lead role in curriculum development and explore innovative approaches to teaching students with additional needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering lessons across a bespoke curriculum
- Supporting the day-to-day needs of the school
- Planning schemes of work and conducting assessments to track pupil progress
- Ensuring the welfare of pupils and adhering to all safeguarding procedures
Requirements
- Able to build and maintain strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Experience working with children with SEMH needs is desirable, but not essential
- Resilient, forward-thinking, and adaptable
- QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualifications, or relevant teaching experience
- Proactive and innovative mindset
- Ability to set and maintain high standards
- Team player
- Willingness to undergo additional training as required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
