Part-time English teacher - Wigan

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a teacher of English on behalf of one of our client secondary schools that is located in Wigan. This secondary school wish to appoint an English teacher on a part time basis for a maternity cover that start is due to start in October 2019.

Part-time English teacher

  • English teacher required to cover a 0.5 timetable - 2/3 days per week
  • Secondary school graded 'Good' in their latest Ofsted report
  • Maternity cover - up to 12 months with a starting date of October 2019
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience.
  • Well resourced English department led by a supportive and popular head of department

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a Roman Catholic school where you will receive full support throughout your placement. The successful English teacher will be required to teach students of mixed ability at both KS3 and KS4.The head of department is seeks to appoint an ambitious teacher that is results orientated and committed to their pupils ensuring they have the opportunity to succeed.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and confident teacher who enjoys delivering high quality, creative lessons and inspiring a love of English.
  • Secure high standards of engagement, progress and achievement for all students.
  • Have energy, resilience, optimism, a sense of humour and the determination to see things through.

The school located close the East Lancashire Road near the areas of Tyldesley and Astley. This offers excellent accessibility to the surrounding areas with Ashton-in-Makerfield and the areas of Salford only a short drive away. Currently there are 800 pupils enrolled to this Secondary school which is smaller than the average Secondary school in the local area.
